Subaru and its retailers partner with Operation Warm® to visit local homeless shelters and support agencies to provide children with brand-new necessities like coats, shoes, and socks.
These essential items not only help keep children protected, warm, and dry, they can also have a significant impact on a child’s mental and emotional well-being.
Through this partnership and other historical Subaru Loves to Help efforts, Subaru and retailers like us will have supported over 1 million children and adults in urgent need nationwide.
At Subaru, we believe what we leave behind is a reflection of who we are. That’s why Subaru and our retailers partner with the Arbor Day Foundation (TM) to provide and distribute 100,000 regionally appropriate trees across the country. We’re proud to establish the largest corporate tree distribution ever. Through this and other Subaru Loves the Earth initiatives, Subaru and our retailers have helped distribute and plant over 1.1 million trees.
Subaru believes we should all have a chance to lead a healthy life. That’s why for over 10 years, Subaru and its retailers like us have partnered with Blood Cancer United® and our local hospital to give warm blankets and encouraging messages of hope, written by our employees and customers, to support our community members living with cancer. Through our combined efforts during this partnership, we have supported over 550,000 cancer patients nationwide. Together, we are proud to be Blood Cancer United’s largest automotive donor.
Subaru and its retailers, like us, are continuing our support of education and high-needs schools in our communities through Subaru Loves Learning(R) by providing teachers across the country with funding to purchase the school supplies and resources they know are needed to help students thrive in the classroom. Through our partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org, Subaru and its retailers have supported more than 950,000 students nationwide and are proud to be their largest corporate supporter.

Through our partnership with local and national organizations, Subaru has donated over $70 million, supporting the rescue, adoption, and health of over 700,000 animals. We're proud to be the largest corporate donor to the ASPCA.
Subaru and its retailers believe in giving back to our communities. That's why for every new vehicle sold or leased during the Subaru Share the Love event, Subaru and its retailers, like us, makes a donation to national charities that our owners care about and to over 2,700 local charities where Subaru owners live and work.
Now, after 17 years, Subaru and our retailers have donated nearly $320 million to charity all to give back and to make the world a better place.

We have created strong and beneficial relationships with both our customers and partners, so they feel comfortable reaching out when they need anything or simply just to say hello, and that speaks volumes in regard to our Love Promise commitment.
Subaru and Subaru of Troy believe in making a positive impact on the communities in which we live and work. We uphold that belief through our Love Promise Community Commitment. Every month, we select inspiring stories from customers and partners from around our area who strive to support our collective commitment and feature them here.

On May 4th - May 6th, Subaru of Troy hosted a Subaru Loves the Earth event in partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation at their dealership. The event welcomed our amazing customers and gave the community an opportunity to take meaningful action for the environment while supporting Subaru's commitment to protecting and conserving natural spaces for future generations. During the event, 100 trees were gifted, contributing to Subaru's nationwide effort to distribute and plant over 1.1 million trees through the Subaru Loves the Earth program. The Subaru of Troy team participated by talking to customers and providing hands-on opportunities to engage with Subaru's sustainability mission and learn about protecting the planet. We also provided information for customers on how to make sure the trees are cared for in the best way possible. The event brought together employees and customers fostering community connections and reinforcing the shared responsibility of caring for our planet. Partnering with the Arbor Day Foundation helped maximize the reach and impact of the event locally. Subaru of Troy is proud to support Subaru Loves the Earth and the Arbor Day Foundation, taking meaningful steps to leave a legacy of environmental stewardship. We look forward to continuing these efforts and hosting future events that positively impact both the community and the planet.

Our library is so grateful to Subaru of Troy for their support! Subaru has been a wonderful community partner, helping us to repair and improve our building and grounds as we work to serve a growing town on a limited budget. Our library attendance grows each year and at times it has been a struggle to keep up with rising operating costs and maintaining things like plumbing and HVAC systems to make sure our building is the safe and welcoming space our residents deserve. The library's goal this year is to maintain a beautiful building, improve our outdoor grounds so our members can enjoy a beautiful community garden and play space, and continue to provide wonderful books and events for all ages. We strive to be a hub of learning, fun, and connection for our town and we are endlessly thankful to Subaru for helping us achieve that mission.

For many, the sound of a ball hitting a glove or the cheer from a dugout is the soundtrack of childhood. But for some families in our community, those sounds were nearly out of reach this spring. The reality is that the rising costs of uniforms and equipment can turn a field of dreams into a source of stress, forcing some children to sit out the season simply because of affordability. Subaru of Troy believed that every child deserves the chance to experience the teamwork, discipline, and pure joy that comes with youth softball. This season, Subaru of Troy stepped up as a primary sponsor for our local Little League. Their commitment went beyond just putting a logo on a banner. To ensure that every child could participate regardless of their financial situation, Subaru of Troy: Fully funded uniforms and essential equipment for players who were otherwise unable to afford the registration requirements. Ensured 100% participation for the spring ball season, removing the "affordability barrier" for several local families. Provided high-quality gear, including gloves and bats, ensuring these young athletes could play safely and with pride. This wasn't just a corporate donation; it was a team effort. Several members of the staff volunteered their time to help fit the players for their new gear and assisted with the league's opening day ceremonies. Seeing the look of pure excitement on a child's face when they received their brand-new uniform—knowing they were officially part of the team—was a powerful reminder of why we do what we do. This story is about more than leather and laces; it's about unconditional love for the community. By covering these costs, Subaru of Troy didn't just sponsor a team; they invested in the confidence and happiness of children who thought they'd be watching from the bleachers. Now, they are in the dirt, under the lights, and in the game. We are forever grateful for Subaru playing a part in their journey. Proving that Subaru of Troy's promise to the community is one they keep with all their heart.

Subaru of Troy continues to demonstrate its commitment to our community in meaningful ways. Leliece and her team arrived with warm smiles and boxes filled with more than 100 warm coats and brand-new sneakers for the children at our A Child's Place locations. The excitement was immediate and shared by everyone, especially the children, parents, and staff. The kids loved being able to choose items just for themselves, and it was truly heartwarming to watch their joy. Unity House of Troy is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families in our community who are facing significant challenges. We provide a wide range of services to those living in poverty, adults living with mental illness or HIV/AIDS, survivors of domestic violence, and children with developmental delays and their families. Our work focuses on advancing social justice and fostering greater understanding and compassion for the people we serve. We could not continue this important work without the generosity and involvement of our community partners. Subaru of Troy's support is a wonderful example of their ongoing commitment to making a positive difference. Together with Operation Warm, they helped create a truly special and memorable experience for the children we serve. On behalf of everyone at Unity House, especially the children, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Subaru of Troy and Operation Warm for their kindness, generosity, and continued partnership.

Troy Subaru has been a community partner for several years. They have consistently helped with everyday items for our students like school supplies. This year, Troy Subaru donated much needed school supplies to our students, helping make the start of the school year a success. We are so thankful for their continued partnership, and look forward to working with them again. The staff is kind, compassionate, and personable. Our students are always excited to see them. The Brunswick Community Library & Subaru Share the Love My board is planning to use our Subaru Share the Love money to further our goal of improving the Library's outdoor space for community use. Specifically, to build a covered pavilion so that we can hold outdoor programs in our backyard. Your generous donation of $12,000 will cover most or all of the cost of a shaded pavilion to help us host live music concerts, animal teaching events, children's craft days, and more in our outdoor space. We are planning to put an engraved thank you brick to Subaru in our outdoor walkway and will send photos of our newly renovated outdoor community space when it is complete! Thank you for being a part of our library community and helping us better serve our town.

I was in the market for a new Subaru Outback and went to our local dealer, Subaru of Troy in Troy, New York. While there I met up with Le'liece Lassiter-Moore, Customer Relations Specialist and Love Promise Champion. I shared the story of Project Linus, an all-volunteer organization that provides new, handmade blankets to needy, ill or traumatized children in our local community. I explained that I have volunteered with Project Linus since 2007 as their Chapter Coordinator, and that a Subaru Outback is the only car that I have owned since beginning with them because it has the biggest trunk space with which to transport blankets. I can load my car for a day's worth of blanket deliveries, or drop the two back seats down and make my blanket and fabric pickups throughout the Capital Region. Le'liece informed me about the Subaru Love Promise and how Subaru of Troy is involved in the community. We then discussed if Subaru of Troy would be willing to make a monetary donation to Project Linus. Subaru came through for us and the money will allow us to purchase fleece fabric for use by local students willing to perform community service by making blankets. THANK YOU Subaru of Troy for your generous donation. JoAnne Marcario Project Linus Albany/Rensselaer counties, NY Chapter

At Subaru of Troy, our commitment is not only to our customers, but to the environment and our community as well. We care deeply about our community and are committed to keeping our neighborhoods vibrant and healthy now and for generations to come. Trees are vital to this effort- as they provide oxygen, cool our community, filter water, clean the air, prevent flooding, and improve health. But every year, our community loses trees due to age, disease, infestation, and extreme weather. Because of this, Subaru and retailers like us are proud to partner with the Arbor Day Foundation in attempt to help address this problem. This spring, as part of our Subaru loves the Earth initiative, Subaru of Troy provided and distributed 150 trees that will benefit our communities for generations! This year alone, Subaru and its retailers provided and distributed 100,000 trees to communities across the country. Through this new partnership and other initiatives, Subaru and retailers like is have helped distribute and plant over 1.1 million trees so far! Together we are growing a greener, healthier Troy for generations to come!

Subaru of Troy, has done it again! Leliece and her coworkers showed up with nothing but smiles and boxes full of over 100 warm coats and new sneakers for all of the children at our A Child’s Place locations! Everyone was ecstatic-especially the parents and staff! The kids had so much fun being able to choose the items they wanted-it was a blast to watch! Unity House of Troy is a non-profit agency that provides a wide range of services to meet the otherwise unmet needs of people in our community who are hurting and struggling. Here at Unity House, we assist those who are living in poverty, adults living with mental illness or HIV/AIDS, victims of domestic violence, and children with developmental delays and their families. We work to achieve social justice in our community and to create a better understanding of those we serve. We could not do this work without the support of our community. On Feb.19th, we certainly felt the love from Subaru of Troy – they came through for us and are a wonderful example of Subaru’s commitment to making a difference. We are grateful to Subaru and Operation Warm for making this such a special event. On behalf of the many people we serve, especially the children, thank you!

We, the Burnt Hills Ballston Lake High School Robotics Club (also known as Team #7420 – The MechaSpartans), are proud to be part of the FIRST program. FIRST is an organization that provides students with hands-on STEM experiences and teaches skills in engineering, programming, communication, and teamwork. Every season, FIRST challenges teams with a new game - this year’s game is Into The Deep. Competing in FIRST requires significant funds to cover registration fees, travel, hotel stays, and meals during qualifiers and competitions. This financial burden can be challenging, but thanks to the generous support from Subaru of Troy, our team is one step closer to our fundraising goal and is ready to dive straight into the competition this season! Thank you, Subaru of Troy!

In October, seven adorable eight-week-old puppies found their forever homes after a lively livestreamed puppy party! These little ones, freshly bathed and ready for their big day, each went home with a Subaru New Pet Parent kit, thanks to the generous support of Subaru of Troy. From spay/neuter surgeries and microchips to clean bills of health, the care that made these adoptions possible is thanks to partners like Subaru, who help us provide for every animal’s needs. We’re grateful for Subaru of Troy’s commitment to helping us give pets like these a bright, healthy start in their new homes.

This October, in celebration of Subaru Loves Pets, Subaru of Troy provided new pet parents at Mohawk Hudson Humane Society with special adoption kits to welcome their furry friends home. Tailored for both dog and cat adopters, these kits were filled with essentials and thoughtful gifts to support a smooth transition. Some dogs especially loved their “Chewbaru” Subaru toys, proudly carrying them as their first cherished item. Every three minutes, a person in the U.S is diagnosed with leukemia, lymphoma, or myeloma - blood cancers that often requires patients to endure difficult treatments that leave them feeling weak, cold, and isolated. For the past couple of years, we have been a part of the Subaru loves to care blanket donations. We had a team personally deliver dozens of blankets, messages of hope, and care packages to our Cancer Center for those fighting cancer. This amazing program brought joy to our patients. The patients could not be more grateful for the hope, love, and warmth that the Subaru of Troy team provided. The staff and the patients look forward to the donations every year.

Vanderheyden offers a range of care for individuals with intellectual/development disabilities and behavioral challenges of all ages. Vanderheyden recognized the need to prepare the individuals served with life skills and job experience. To fulfill this need, Vanderheyden developed the Career Center in 2018 to provide the individuals served an opportunity to learn skills in retail, car detailing, agriculture and culinary arts. Our explicit goal surrounding work-based learning and Career Center programs is to assure success in the workplace for our individuals regardless of their trauma histories and associated challenges. The programs promote building skills in the areas of relationship building, community inclusion, self-advocacy and overall greater independence - essential to quality of life and for these individuals to become productive citizens. Vanderheyden opened The Vandy Thrift Shoppe as a training location for future retail positions for those we serve. Vanderheyden students, team members, clients, and other agency members will work collaboratively to operate and manage the shoppe. This project-based approach focuses on the operation of the storefront to teach valuable transferable and work-specific skills that can be applied to a variety of industries later in personal working experiences. Programs like this are 100% tun by donations as there is no government funding. Thanks to Subaru's Share the Love Campaign, individuals like Laura, an individual who receives full time care at Vanderheyden, are provided experience in retail, with the goal of gaining more independence each day. "The Vandy Thrift Shoppe Career Program has taught me to keep myself calm, smile and put customers first. It's given me the opportunity to meet new people and has inspired me to work in retail one day. I love helping people and making people smile" - Laura Thank you so very much to Paul Lynch and his team at Subaru of Troy for presenting Vanderheyden with a $25,000 check from Subaru's Share the Love program. This is the fourth year Vanderheyden has been chosen as Subaru of Troy's hometown charity, and we are unbelievably grateful for their continued support.

Subaru of Troy, NY helped families get warm coats and new shoes for children in need. Winter in Upstate New York is cold so when Vito, Le’liece, and Jeff from Subaru of Troy showed up with 200 new winter coats, and 200 pairs of shoes, staff at Unity House were ecstatic! Working with our established network that identifies families in need, we were able to help hundreds of children get what they need, thanks to Subaru of Troy. We were blown away by the fun loving and helpful group of volunteers that came to help from our local Subaru. Le’liece, Vito, and Jeff were especially wonderful to work with. It was a day filled with hard work, laughter, and making life better for our community thanks to this awesome group-they certainly proved to us and our community that Subaru Loves to Help. It was gratifying to see the difference these volunteers made. One child, NAME, a 6th grader in our local middle school, was thrilled to pick out shoes in just the right size and color. We appreciated that Subaru of Troy volunteers brought everything on site, and set it up in a way that afforded dignity to the families we serve, with room for children to measure their feet and try on a pair of new shoes and a new coat. Most important, Vito, Le’liece, and Jeff helped make the event a fun afternoon at our community resource center. They interacted with staff to learn more about our human services non-profit, they took the time to meet parents, and they talked to the kids, helping greet children and made it fun to pick out a new coat and shoes. Unity House of Troy is a non-profit agency that provides a wide range of services to meet the otherwise unmet needs of people in our community who are hurting and struggling. We assist those who are living in poverty, adults living with mental illness or HIV/AIDS, victims of domestic violence, and children with developmental delays and their families. On Feb. 13th, we felt the love from Subaru of Troy – they came through for us and are a shining example of Subaru’s commitment to making a difference. We are grateful to Subaru and Operation Warm for making this such a special event. On behalf of the many people we serve, especially the children, thank you!

Mohawk Hudson Humane Society and Subaru of Troy have been forging a renewed relationship that is quickly becoming one both can rely on. Subaru of Troy sent over several Bark Box adoption kits and stuffed Subaru dog toys for dogs as they go home. They have also supported MHHS with different events throughout the year. In turn, MHHS has supported Subaru of Troy publicly to its social media audience, helping to spread news of this great partnership. Both organizations know that they can turn to the other when they have a fun, quirky idea to help promote the other, and they will be met with support and excitement. We feel very lucky that there are multiple Subaru dealers in the area, but we know that having a special relationship with them is the real gift. We cannot wait to continue working with Subaru of Troy.

School 2 is a community school with many needs. We are so excited to be working with Subaru Troy! Their team has been amazing to work with. They have sponsored our teachers so that they can get additional learning materials for our scholars. They even sponsored a school supply drive for scholars who needed additional supplies. Moreover, they have agreed to be a formal community partner in order to grow our school. They are joining our community meetings and events! Our first event is a Trunk or Treat for Halloween and they will be decorating their car and passing out candy. We are truly thankful for this new partnership and we can't wait for what's to come. Thank you, Subaru, Troy!

In a heartwarming partnership, Subaru of Troy and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society® (LLS) have combined forces to make a tangible difference in the lives of those undergoing cancer treatment. Subaru of Troy has proven to be a beacon of generosity and care, demonstrating a genuine commitment to our shared mission of creating a world free from blood cancer. Together, with the support of St. Mary's Cancer Treatment Center, Subaru of Troy has generously contributed 80 comforting blankets to the patients who are undergoing treatments, often spending long hours in the infusion center. These blankets serve as a symbol of warmth and solidarity, enveloping patients with a sense of comfort during their journey towards recovery. Recognizing the significance of easing the journey for patients, Subaru of Troy has generously offered 30 patient care kits. These kits encompass essential items that enhance the comfort and well-being of patients during their hospital stays. These thoughtfully curated care kits provide not only practical support but also convey a message of care and understanding. Moreover, the outpouring of love and encouragement from Subaru customers has been truly heartening. Their heartfelt messages of hope and inspiration, collected by Subaru of Troy, have been a source of comfort and strength for the patients at St. Mary's Cancer Treatment Center. These messages remind patients that they are supported by a caring community, and that they are not alone in their battle. LLS extends its deepest gratitude to the entire Subaru of Troy family for embodying the spirit of compassion and for standing by us in our commitment to eradicate blood cancer. Your dedication serves as a powerful example of what can be achieved when a community rallies together to make a difference. The impact of your support reaches far beyond the material contributions; it is a testament to the strength of human connection and the capacity for kindness. On behalf of the patients, their families, and the entire LLS community, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to Subaru of Troy. Your partnership demonstrates that together, we can illuminate the path towards healing, hope, and a future free from blood cancer.

In 2023, Subaru donated $25,000 to Vanderheyden Career Center Supportive Employment Program through Subaru's Love Promise. In the last four years, Subaru has been unbelievably generous, donating over $70,000 to Vanderheyden. These services include the provision of mentorships, field experiences and the creation of specific curricula designed to ameliorate the challenges faced by individuals impacted by specific behavioral and mental health challenges as well as disabilities. Since the start of the Supportive Employment Program, Vanderheyden has provided work experience in car detailing, cooking and baking, agriculture and gardening, along with retail experience at Vanderheyden's Thrift Store, The Vandy Thrift Shoppe. Without the continuous help of generous donors like Subaru, programs like this could not exist. As a nonprofit Agency, Vanderheyden relies on donations to fund projects and programs that better prepare their individuals for life after Vanderheyden. Thank you, Subaru, supporting Vanderheyden's mission of Empowering youth, adults and families to build brighter futures. A special thank you to Subaru of Troy Manager Paul Lynch and his team for welcoming Vanderheyden youth to the retailer. Paul allowed Vanderheyden youth to take photos in a few of their cars, which made their day!

My mother Rosemary was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in August, 2021. This effectively took over her life, especially after she had a stroke, and the constant doctors' appointments and financial strain took a significant toll on her mental health. This grew worse as, while taking my sister to an appointment, the family car, a Subaru Legacy, broke down on the highway. We went months without a car and my mother lost hope, cancelling all of her appointments because she simply couldn't reliably get there. Then she called the local Subaru dealership and spoke with Mr. Carbone. When he heard the story, he immediately decided to take the car in and perform many thousands of dollars' worth of repairs at no charge whatsoever, even ordering parts be imported and shipped cross-country to get the job done. This saved my mother's life both in allowing her to physically go to her treatments, and in restoring her faith in the world and her desire to keep going. Mr. Carbone going out of his way to help a family he had only just met like this was an utterly selfless act that absolutely deserves any possible commendations. We would never have been able to get the vehicle roadworthy ourselves without his help, and absolutely consider ourselves to be in his debt.

Vanderheyden is recognized as one of the premier children, adult and family service agencies in the Capital Region for the last 189 years. This year, Subaru has donated $25,000 to Vanderheyden and its programs. In the last four years, Subaru has donated over $70,000 to Vanderheyden. Without the continuous help of generous donors like Subaru, programs like Vanderheyden's Career Center Supportive Employment Project would not exist. As a nonprofit Agency, Vanderheyden relies on donations to fund projects and programs that better prepare their individuals for life after Vanderheyden. Subaru's donation of $25,000 this year will go directly to programs at Vanderheyden like the Career Center. Subaru has been so welcoming to Vanderheyden youth, inviting them to tour the facility and detailing shop. Their hospitality was inspiring to our youth, some leaving the tour excited to get involved with car detailing for future job opportunities. Vanderheyden plans on continuing their car wash and detailing program, as many of our youth have expressed interest in this as a future job opportunity. Thank you, Subaru, for your continuous support of Vanderheyden's mission to empower youth, adults and families to build brighter futures.

Klyde is a big boy with a lot of love to share. Klyde was originally adopted out in 2021, but was returned to MHHS in October 2022. Klyde came back to the shelter five pounds heavier (a lot for a cat!), with reports of not using the litterbox (signs of stress.) Klyde was just looking for someone to love him. He was moved to a cat condo and made available after being seen by our vet team. For Klyde and his adopters, it was love at first sight. Klyde's new dad knew that Klyde was the one from the moment he saw him in the condo. Klyde now has a home and a doting family to love him for the rest of his life. Subaru supports the care and adoptions of animals of all sizes. MHHS is grateful to have Subaru as a partner in this important cause!

Norman came to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society as a stray in July 2020. The owner was in touch with local animal control, but never came to redeem him. When Norman got here he was pushy, mouthy, and a typical young shepherd. He was easily overstimulated and didn’t seem to enjoy other dogs. Some volunteers and the Behavior Team at MHHS took him under their wing, and that’s when things started to change for Norman. He had been hiding that he was super smart. Norman quickly learned all of the basic obedience commands, and took to enrichment activities like a pro. Norman even started in playgroups, and it was determined that he was dog selective, as opposed to disliking all dogs. Norman picked his people and would go to the end of the earth for them. It took 450 days for the right adopter to find him. Norman made sure his potential adopter saw all of his sides in his meet: silly, smart, bold, brainy, and he still wanted to take him home. Norman now lives on an acre of land with the promise of regular hiking, lots of love, and occasionally a canine friend. Support from Carbone Subaru allows MHHS to do everything it can to support long-term dogs like Norman. It allowed the team to work on Norman, help him become more adoptable, and to find the perfect home for him.
